How would anyone but you know what is best for you? I would recommend that you take the worst things from there and decide if it fits your idea of a great place to live. Could you endure terrible dust storms, which just occurred in the Phoenix area recently? Can you stand 120 degree weather in the summer? Plus humidity in Phoenix area because so many people water their lawns and crop irrigation also adds water to the air. Thunder storms don't always bring rain, but lots of thunder and lighning. But then, the winters are wonderful, as are the spring and late fall. Go online and read the newspapers from the areas you might want to live in. Northern Arizona is really beautiful and there are many trees, but winters are colder around Flagstaff. Check on crime in the various areas, prices of homes, utilities, groceries by studying the newspaers. This will give you an idea of the realities of the area. When I lived there, parents had to purchase their kid's school books. Your age and past experiences, and what is important to you--all of these have to be considered. Good luck!

As a former resident of AZ for over 20 yrs, unless illegals crossing the border by the thousands everyday doesn't bother you, then you will be fine.
And depending on where you live, you have to have a good job in order to make it. It's still a 'right to work' state, so they only pay minimum wage or a little above for most unskilled jobs.
A degree may not even assure you of a decent position unless you have something in demand. Right now that would be healthcare.
But otherwise, it's a beautiful state in most places.
