YES. And I believe its worth it. The point is to be together in the long run. All my problems, worries and fears will be erased when we can finally be together. I didn't mean to fall in love in the Philippines. Not to be conceited, but I am a very pretty mestisa with tons of guys chasing after me here. But my heart is in the P.I. *sigh*. Anyone wanna trade places with me? Come live in the U.S. for me and I'll move to the Philippines.. Ay nako how I wish..

Not me, but there's a lot people who do. My son just retired from the Army and he's was in combat several times, and my Grandson who is Columbia and his wife and children at home. My daughter in the Air Force has had to be away at times too. My other daughter's husband has had to make several trips out of town on business. I served in the Army during the Vietnam era and of course I was overseas and my wife and children at home.

Yup :) lets make it short for me, Mines lasted only for 9 months, but I broke up with him and lets just say that I fell in love with my best guy friend who I know for almost 7 years (with this year). I We met each other way back 2001. I went to the same school as him when we met. As for my family we move around a lot, so I kept in touch with him and we know each other too well, even my family loves him
I admit to my dad that I was really in love and I know he really is the one for me. He was shock that I would say things, he even stared at me for the longest time. But he decided I'm old enough and it was brave of me to stand up like that. I was afraid to tell my dad due to the fact he isn't the type of person to listen. I know this is shock me as well.
My best guy friend just moved here where I'm at in Florida, US just last year. So basically we grew a much stronger bond.
I still have problems and things I haven't talked to my dad but
I can finally help myself.
Now I'm about to get married and pregnant :) I'm also going to move in to my fiancee apartment and hopefully have a house soon.
I'm still in High School, but I'm going to continue my studies.
Unlike some people here who doesn't know yet whats going on with me, well here is my short version of my story.
Anywho, I have had a lot to distance relationships that I have hidden behind my dad, until now, my ex's are happy for me and I'm still close to them, even by far :)
I don't like to share my stories of my life most of the time here in Yahoo Answers, because some people are particularlly rude and start judging you already, take EJ for example.

I don't. My relationship with anyone is not distant, in fact, it's just a foot away from me and the computer.

I used to have one. And it didn't work out. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it. It takes a HUGE amount of effort, and sometimes, the pain isn't worth it.

been there.
and i used to believe that it will worked good...but as the days..weeks..months... passes by....calling, chatting, sms, emaling..became less and less until it stands still ...for no reason at all. no new guys in town or vice versa..its just that it isn't enough anymore to fill the emptiness. then, it stops.
now, draw the line.
