Yes, it is allowed and encouraged. I am nude whenever it is warm enough to be comfortable, and my wife is often also. Inside your house, it is unlikely that you would be arrested for anything, but keep in mind that the laws on the books and how your neighbors and local police would react to seeing you as you were born are different things. In Vt, it is legal to be nude anywhere except for a few towns that have specific ordinances against public nudity.
In short, inside your home there should be no problem in the US (I think Mexico City has an ordinance about being nude in your home, but that is an aberation). Outside your home, on your own property, may be ok depending on your neighbors, visibility, etc.
The issue about children is a bit problematical; there are always stories of families that have had problems with complaints about 'child abuse' due to parent nudism, but, again, this is very dependent upon your neighbors and the local agencies.

I live in a nudist household, so obviously it is allowed. Some people go nude in their backyards (and front yards for World Naked Gardening Day). Outdoor nudity can be illegal depending on where you live. If you are in Europe for instance, most people don't care if you're publicly naked or not, but if you live in the American Bible Belt or in a Middle Eastern country like Iran or Iraq, you can stand to be arrested or even shot.
If you'd like to be part of the nude revolution and stand up for your right to go nude where you want, join the group below today!

Well, that sucks for your room mate! If you are on house arrest, they cant tell you not to sit on your porch or not do your laundry, UNLESS, either of them are farther away than the 50 feet. My friends husband was on house arrest for driving the get away car for an armed robbery and he was allowed to go to work, which they monitored where he was going by GPS and he also spent lots of time on the deck.

Nudism is legal in all of the fifty states. I do practice it at my home. There are clothing optional resorts all over to find one near you google nude sunbathers on the net or try nude news, or clothesfree.com. You can even be nude around your children if you want to. Most likely they would want to join in on it. At the resorts there are children there too with their parents.

Yes, my wife and I never wear clothes at home. If someone sees then they are trespassing and that is illegal.
It is legal with kids in the house. There are many nudist families out there and most do not experience any issues.
It would only be illegal if you force some one to watch you or if you force them to be naked.
Saying it is wrong to be naked is like saying God made a mistake.

Wearing your birthday suit at home, around only adults (not around children) is legal. Do pull your drapes closed, people with video cameras have been known to put their noses in where they don't belong, causing problems on both sides (again, this is where children can peer in and cause problems.)
You know, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I go around my house nude when I feel like it. You need to keep the blinds closed though. If you don't believe me, ask Matthew McConaughey.

Don't know, it seems like it should be allowed but keep in mind... do you want to see certain people naked just by chance of walking by?

I think as long as you arent visible from the outside its ok. But if you have children you could get into trouble with family services.
