There is no way this happens. The Yankees don't need him with 4 quality outfielders already. Didn't they learn their lesson trading for Abreu last season as an injury fill in? Doing that cost them Sheff who has been a stud for Detroit this year. When Giambi comes back (this season or next) they would have 5 outfielders and only three spots to play them if they added Griffey. If they are going to get someone from the Reds it would be Adam Dunn to be the regualr 1B, not Griffey. Even then I don't like the trade, because what that team needs is some quality arms, not more power in the lineup.

No chance Griffey will ever be a Yankee. I believe Griffey will stay with the Reds or ask to be traded to a contender so he will have an opportunity to go to the playoffs before he retires. However, the Yankees payroll is too high now and they won't pay Griffey the salary he would command.

I don't see Griffey going to the Yankees at the deadline.First of all he is playing in right this year, and Abreu is finally hitting so that spot is full, and to not use Damon everyday would be a huge waste. The Yankees also don't have many prospects left because they trade them every year at the dealine. Griffey to another team in the N.L. sounds more likely (won't have to adjust to pitching again etc.) But we'll have to wait and see. I heard Dodgers and Braves were interested, and Mets are interested in everyone it seems.

Sorry, the Yankees need a 38 year old outfielder like they need a hole in the head. What they need is pitching and more pitching. As you saw in the game versus TB today, their pitching was horrible. With the pitching staff the Yanks have now, they are actually overachieving. If they come up with at least 2 pitchers that they can plug into the rotation, they would be awesome. So if they do make a trade, it won't be for an outfielder or DH, it'll be for a pitcher.

The Reds would want major league ready prospects for
Griffey, who do the Yankees have to give them?
I think he would go to LA, Seattle, or the Cubs.

That would make lots of sense, from what you said and the fact that the Reds need prospects
