You usually hear that word when somebody is trying to screw you with a bad deal.

I thought commitment is the admission of someone to a mental hospital, psychitaric hospital, or insane asylum against his/her will. How's that any fun?

With your last question, I called you insensitive. You really must be or you have gotten a bad deal when it comes to a relationship. I would guess that you have been deeply hurt and you are striking out the best way you can. You know what commitment means in a relationship. No one needs to explain it to you. Perhaps the explanation lies in why you were screwed in your commitment to that person....

From the tone of your other questions tonight and your answers, I'm going to assume that you have some kind of repulsion to the word commitment...at least in it's true form.

Dh & I are committed to each other. I am committed to being with him for the rest of my life, being true to him and seeking out what is best for him. He's committed to the same things for me.

You know what...it works and it's an awesome deal not a bad one.

No it's not a fun word.
It is an adult word meaning hard work, self denial, self respect and sensitivity to others. It also represents a reward after lots of patience that far out weighs the time and effort put into it.

You sound like you're on the edge of divorce...or at least a major split. I've seen your other questions and you seem to be very sad, confused and angry.
Get some real therapy...you won't get it here from yahoo.
Wishing you the best.

"Fun word?"

I don't think "fun" is the appropriate definition.

Aside from your pejorative connotation, "commitment" also applies to one's job/career, artistic endeavors or social philosophies.
