That's not quite true these days, in the UK at least.
Other than a Sunday even The Times has gone Tabloid.
A better phrase over here would be "Red Tops" as all the "gutter press" tabloids have red banners on their front pages

cause they just enjoy hearing all that exciting stuff about celebrities they dont care if its true or not that just like hearing bout them. Like some sex tape Americans now a days would pro bally read that over anything else.
