Are you talking about the other 1/2 as in marriage or the other 1/2 in a relationship? I believe it only "bothers" people, when they are in an exclusive relationship and the other person strays from that. You are truly insensitive when you say "why does one more notch make a difference?". Obviously, you haven't been in a relationship that means everything to you. So much to you that you would never stray. It's a special bond between 2 people that you don't find every day.

Because, in a committed relationship, a person should be able to trust their s.o. People make a commitment to stay faithful with that person, it doesn't matter what their sex life was like before marriage. Also, cheating makes many people question themselves in the marriage. If their spouse had to get it somewhere else, was something wrong with them in the bedroom.

the other half has a problem with a cheat because you all are in a relationship let alone married. you are supposed to be hers and ONLY hers.the time you had befor the marriage was the time you should have been fishin in the sea of other women.a married couple has vows. marriage is supposed to be the last step in a relationship. if you were not ready to be faithfull you should have waited to make that vow with you other half. if the love and passion is real you honestly should't/wouldn't want to be with any other female!

Why does it matter? It matters because without trust between two people, the relationship suffers, plus with Aids and other things going around, it is a risk to your partner. It is simply fair when you make a committment to stay faithful, if you don't wish to, then perhaps it might be a good idea to not make committments.

I believe marriage is the spiritual union of two people in to one. Sex is the physical representation of that reality.
When someone gives that to another person -- it is a complete betrayal. Sure, there are always exceptions according to people out there but...

when you are already inside the marriage, loyalty is a must. it won't matter much if that one notch you're talking about belongs to your past, when you haven't met your mate yet. but when you does, that one notch will make a hell of a lot of difference.

You make a commitment when you marry. Its a promise and you give your word. Most people don't want to be with a liar and a cheat. Unless they are one too.

Tell your wife that one more notch won't make any difference in your relationship, then hand her a pack of condoms. Maybe it'll become clear to you then.

Because it makes the other person feel like "they" have been cheated by being lied to. It just makes for a good pitty party

it's breaking trust. It's something 2 people share who love each other...and I think you used it for a topic just to get a rise out of people, because noone likes to be cheated on.
