A female pig is a sow. I'm pretty sure a female elephant is a cow, however.

A female elephant and a pig are both called a SOW. A baby elephant is called a CALF, but a baby pig is either a PIGLET, SHOAT, or FARROW. The male elephant is a BULL and the male pig is a BOAR.
