I prefer Lord of the Rings. I have loved the books since I was a young girl, and I loved Peter Jackson's interpretation of them on film.
I like Star Wars, but it doesn't have the depth LOTR has. Lucas wanted the movies to feel like Saturday matinee melodramas, and they do, perhaps too much at times.

I'd have to say Lord of the Rings. Only episode 4-6 were any good in Star Wars, 1-3 ruined the whole series for me.

Lord of the Rings trilogy for sure - Star Wars was okay, LOR was AWESOME!

Of the two LOTR, as we have the unified vision of Peter Jackson.
George farmed it out and we are all over the pallette
