People that get paid millions of dollars to play sports?

Or....

Being a single-parent?

I will never understand why athletes earn millions of dollars and single-parents have to struggle day in and day out......

Yep, I'm a single-parent....and damn proud of it!

Go, La la! My mom is a single parent, and I think when she goes to bed at the end of the day, she's glad to have children and be able to pull her own weight.

I have never been able to figure out why anyone would be proud to be denying their child a full time mother or father. I guess it depends if you are a single parent by choice (which a lot of people are these days). I have often wondered why someone is good enough to have sex with and lay around with but suddenly not good enough to be a co-parent to the child. EVERY child deserves the right to have a decent MOTHER AND FATHER and it's up to us as childbearing adults to make good enough choices to see to it that that happens. Find something good to be pround of--not the fact that you have denied your child their other parent

Pardon me, single parents aren't the only ones who struggle day in and day out. Just about everybody struggles regardless of skin color, creed, disability, gender, martial status. Becareful how you express your question there its stereotyping a specific group of people. Yes, I do agree that some never have to work very hard to make millions, but some people do struggle to get there too.

Ok, before I answer this & get all the thumbs down let me preface this by saying my answer does not apply to ALL!

Ok, if you are a single parent BY CHOICE then you made your bed, lie in it. It seems very popular today for very young girls to have babies out of wedlock "for fun" or just because all their friends are doing it. If that's the case, stop whining about your conscious choice. It's hard enough to raise a child with 2 married, dedicated parents there every day.

On the other hand, a professional athelete is someone who was able to recognize his/her talent early in life, work it, nurture it & mature it to the level where he is today. That requires a lot of dedication & perseverace & is very admirable.

Which is more important? We're all the same in God's eyes. We choose our own paths. Choices have consequences and rewards. These are two examples where we see both in action.

Single parents by far. I never understood why any celebrity, athletic, or actor/actress get paid so much money to do something that doesn't impact society in a major way.

I agree. I dont think anyone is worth 40 some million a year to play sports.
I say take all that money and put it towards the homeless or education or give more to the real heroes of the world.. the police, the fire depts. people like that that really make a difference.

Parents are more important in general...however, I guess until somebody wants to build a stadium around my living room to watch me parent my children I will have to be satisfied with earning nothing!! I feel your pain!!

I would be proud too, lala. I was raised in a single parent household. It does suck to see people getting paid for running a ball across a field, while we needed school supplies and school clothes. I totally see what your saying.
