Why do some african americans (the racist ones) go on and on about slavery and how mean the white people are and how we owe them something? When the Europeans went to Africa, wasn't it the Africans (thier OWN people and family) that sold them to them? I mean I'm not even saying slavery was right which in no way shape or form was it. I am just making a point. Yeah, part of history sucked, but why don't we unite together as humans and make sure that it won't ever repeat its self!!! Thank you all for answering!!!

Consider this. White immigrants enslaved the Africans because they couldn't afford to pay proper wages. They wanted free labor. Don't open up a plantation if you ain't got the money. And don't murder Indians just because you ain't got the money to buy land. Humans don't do that. Americans have the blood of murderers and thieves.

So the truth is that America wouldn't be as "great" as a lot of people would like to think it is, without free labor and stealing land. And how does the media and school system respond to these facts? They suppress the truth by not teaching kids that slavery and genocide are wrong. That's why most people don't think of Americans as murderers and thieves. Because the real criminials are protected. In other words, Americans just let it "slide," and they glorify the people who came up with the Declaration of Independence, etc.

But the media keeps the public ignorant. Blacks are stereotyped as criminals but the truth is that more whites committed crimes than blacks in 2006 according to http://www.ussc.gov/annrpt/2006/table4.p... 28% whites versus 24% blacks. In other words, you are more likely to be attacked by a white person than a black person. It's just that the media doesn't portray the truth on TV.

everyone type of human has been sold at one point in the Ancient World. slavery has been around for a very long time.also the constant comments about whitemen not being able to dance. at specific locations at specific types of dance but perhaps some whitemen from elsewhere could show what can be done with Ukrainian Dances the one with the boots on the ground specifically. perhaps the Irish should invite them to one of their dances . like some people on yahoo have said racism has beensaid to be the problem when it was really a problem with social responsibility. bad policy is to blame for the drug war. they were not even born then and most whites have no wish to enslave anyone. as unity there has been an ongoing problem between three of the major world religions that has it's origin in medieval times . this problem trancends race that of the connectivity between them if the focus was shifted from blaming whites to suggesting perhaps that these link through symbols which represent each religion. notice that each church has a cross but no symbol to represent the people Jesus came from well if a Star from that people were place where the crosspieces meet in the centre as well as one his body inside the church this might help remid everyone even though they know these are the people he came from .also it would represent the people as well. perhaps if this had been seen and done much could be avoided but since it has not it can be done now. look to the future which can turn into adifferent past to look back on.

you are right, Africans sold other African-tribe POW's into slavery for guns and canons. but, where do you get that African Americans go on about slavery, I have et to see that. Maybe I am on at the wrong times, because I see the same old people. As far as slavery happening again, I seriously doubt that, you must mean mental. I don't think it is wrong when anyone speaks on slavery. The way to not enlsave your mind is by knowing what happened and never forgetting. I also say that white should not be penalized, because there are good white people in the world.

Same problem in Australia. While some Aboriginal people get on with life and embrace the white mans culture there are always as many that think they are owed something and If they can get it for free then they'll take it. Once slavery was abolished, it is of my opinion that after , say three generations, get on with it. Racism will always exist but if you don't like the path history took then too bad. I will not be blamed in this day and age for the doings of my race two hundred years ago. African Americans are all free to do as they please and if you still hold a grudge then maybe you should go back to Africa.

You're right spirit princess! A lot of Africans did do that..however I'm pretty sure that makes up for what whites have done to Blacks over the years. After all, white only tortured, raped, hung, oppressed financially/educationally black ppl, among other things. Let me make this a point to you (cause obviously its either wealthy ignorant whites or country/southern ppl asking these questions). Every time you see a lower class/poor black person, they didn't get there because they dropped out of college or tried to pursue some odd personal career choice. Its because they were/are oppressed mentally and and haven't been taught buisness. All they have to work with is the knowledge that they must survive. Bottom line. Anything beyond that is a freely given luxury to whites that blacks are denied everyday.

so true...it was true that the head of their family or clan did sell them but not all were like this...many did resist and so many perished....the point is that history is , basically history, u cannot rewrite the past but you can shape the future...anyone racist is just insecure financially, socially, ect. and the fact that whites owe blacks something....yeah that will not happen because as a society we have improved and learned from our mistakes so we wont repeat them again...i never ask any Spaniards to leave Latin America and that they owe us the natives something...racism is basically an insecurity....

well that's a point.......but not all of them was sold off to the slave traders back in the day............and of course slavery by anyone is wrong of course.

Its just that even with the end of slavery you then have the other little digs,..........like the one drop rule.........the hanging of a young man just for SUPPOSEDLY whistling at a white women...........the years of segregation.....................

I agree that some black people use what happened in the past as an excuse BUT my own husband can recall segregation faintly and his mother can recall it well and am sure that many others do.......and whilst the signs might have come down it is still alive and kicking in some peoples minds and hearts..........

regards

It seems like everybody is holding onto something. Some Christians are still angry at the Jews (I myself, being Chrstian, find this incredible stupid), some native americans want compensation. Some black people do too.

I think my point is it isn't just one race causing all the problems.

Wow. First of all, Mandy has a very... odd way of looking at things.

Racist people... Actually, any people who are passionate about something will cling to major points of interest. It's very simple really. Many topics could be brought up, immigration, reservations, affirmative action, criminal profiling, religion, the list goes on and on.
