a town in Norway? http://www.windycroft.gt-britain.co.uk/walks/Norway/image8.gif blurb from a travel blog --- A "touristy" day. To the glassblowers cabin at Viklen, the Fisheries Museum and blacksmiths at Sund and the Fisheries Museum at A (that's letter A with a circle above it) which includes the old cod liver oil factory with samples if you've never tasted it. The scenery just gets better and better and the weather obliges. A is the most southerly town in Lofoten and the road stops there. We return via the Telecomm Museum at Sorvagen. Lesley is very frustrated at seeing so many unattainable ridges.

It's a norwegian letter pronounced "aw"

In earlier times it was used as the abbreviation for an Angstrom unit - very small length, I forget how small

The A has the circle over it

That's a symbol from the Nordic/Scandanavian alphabets. [Ǻ] or [å] = Aa, such as the the name Aaron in some countries could come after Zoe, since it would be Ǻron the only Scandanavian languages not to commonly use the Ǻ are Icelandic and Faroese

Basically, it's the symbol for "Aa", pronounced (usually) as "Ah"/
