Yes it really happened .people may say it was just a weather balloon, but its not the truth. If it was just a weather balloon or something like that ,why the entire military unit surounded and sealed that area within minutes after the crash. Also they transported something to their military base from the crash site.We are not alone ,universe is such a vast place ,believing that we r the only one in this universe would be stupid .

Why be so mean? I agree with you that as a species, we are not worthy of a visit, but it is you that shows our lack of intelligence and how sad and pitifull the human race can be.

Everyone else... Look up into the sky. Every star you see could be a number of things. Another Sun? Another galaxy? Another Solar system? or a supernova that happened 10 thousand years ago and we are just seeing the light from the explosion today. Space is so vast that we have no concept of it's size.
How can anyone think that we are the only planet out of billions of other planets that has intelligent life. Yes. There are other lifeforms out there but we will probably never see them in our lifetime.

My father worked for NASA for 25 years. When our sattelites would get to close to the sun or when the would re-enter our atmosphere the antenna would melt and we would lose tranmissions and have trouble re-locating them. He fixed this problem by inventeing a chemical polymer to cover the antenna so they can handel the high temerature.

He always told me that The concept of high speed space travel is great but it will never be possible for us to travel to other solar systems and live long enough to make the trip.

The reason why comets and meteors burn up when they enter our atmosphere is because there are NO known elements or metals found on this planet or floating around in our solar system or that have crashed into our planet that can withstand the melting temperatures that would occur if we could put our space ships into warp drive and travel at light speed. Currently, I believe that "Tungsten" is the hardest metal we know and melts around 5400 degrees farenheight.

What does this mean? Unless aliens have discovered other metals in space, visitations are highly unlikely.

Now, heres a story about roswell.
My good friend grew up on air force bases all over the world but she spent most of her time at roswell. (Her dad was a big wig in the air force)
"Area 51" is the most gaurded military base in the world. the entire boundary of the base is patrolled by an anonymous security forces equipped with high-tech surveillance gear. Remote electronic sensors detect movement along the perimiter leading towards the installation. The surveillance systems are so advanced that certain sensory equipment has the ability to smell a person coming near the boundary, and distinguish them from other animals nearby. The ground patrols, are dressed in full tactical cammoflage and are assisted by FLIR-equipped Sikorsky MH-60G Pave Hawk attack helicopters.
If you are able to get past all this then you must be James Bond.

The so called hangar 18 even goes a little further.
It has 2 electric barbed wire fences around the perimiter. Within the 1st fence there are 8 fully armed gaurds with 4 attack dogs 24 hours a day. Within the second fence there are 4 armed gaurds covering the entrance 24 hours a day.
If you somehow are able to hop over the 1st fence the interior security has orders to shoot to kill without hesitation.

So my question is... What are they gaurding in there that they will kill to keep it a secret?
My answer is... I believe that something crashed here that is not from our world. They would not have this kind of security just to gaurd any old airplane. Imagine if when it crashed they announced to the world that aliens crashed here. The Sci Fi movies were just starting. People would have gone crazy thinking we are going to be invaded and It would have caused total mass hysteria. They had to cover it up.

Dr Anders PHD ?
As intelligent as the aliens may be, is it at all possible they they could of had some sort of malfuntion with their ship? Maybe they forgot to check the flux capacater oil before they boarded their craft? or maybe they were having a battle with a different alien and they were shot out of the sky?

I believe a weather balloon crashed there, and the wreckage wasn't immediately identifiable to an ordinary person. It was taken away. The myth grew from that event.

Area 51 is a research area and the high tech security (yes, it really IS hi-tech) is to prevent national secrets and developments from being discovered. Every country has these secret areas - the USA is no different.

I am certain we are not alone in the universe - I will make a bet with anyone wo wants on this. But the bet wo't come to fruition in my lifetime. SETI is the most likely way extraterrestials will be detected. I have major doubts that we have ever been 'visited'.

I believe we are not alone in this universe . I had a look at the hubble deep space photograph and its pretty amazing how many galaxies are in such a tiny view of space!!!! ITS CRAZY!

there has to be something else out there! its a shame we are stuck on earth , its like a dormant period for exploration.

As for Roswell , i believe something out of the ordinary happend , i mean , we still havnt got any definetive answers , and theres eye witness testimony , i dont see why someone would make it up.

Look up on the internet , this dude called BOB LAZAR , apparently he worked at area 51 and its an interesting story to read , weather its true or not

I believe it was a us government test craft that looked like a traditional UFO. If it was from another world it was probably some kinda probe a craft would be to large otherwise I think UFOs or aliens are monitoring this planet and our society.

Think about it for a moment. A superintelligent species of aliens capable of interstellar. possibly intergalactic, flight circumnavigate, without a problem, the interstellar medium that is riddled with gas, dust and even supernovae only to crash in Roswell New Mexico. Why do people have such an easy time assuming that aliens would be such total idiots?

Hi. It is my belief that the object found was an explosive laden balloon launched by Japan near the end of WWII. The US government would NEVER admit that something so simple could have landed on American soil.

Yes it was a UFO because it wasn't identified for sure. It was not an alien spacecraft.
