We currently have a 10 gallon tank and are moving the fish up to a 45 gallon hexagonal tank and would like to put a few more fish in the tank. All four of these fish are between 4-6 inches long.

thats cool but make sure your hexagon tank is not tall and skinny but it has a happy medium ot you might as well stick with your 10 gallon tank becuase your fish will want more of a flor rather than really tall tank. and as for fish you should get anything that isnt agressive and anything that cant be eaten by gold fish. i had some that would kill any fish small enough to be eaten (god bless my neons they had no chance when i put them in instantly my gold fish ate all of them i had 2 large gold fish and i put in 4 neons) but i would suggest sharks they are fast and cool

Very good choice, you're doing good with upgrading your tank

You might want to get as follows:
2-4 more upside down catfish ( just saw a pic, they are cute)
6 neon tetras (schooling fish)
6 zebra danios (schooling fish)
6 platies ( any kind mixed, of 1male & 2 females)
6 black skirt tetras
and maybe a couple of angels

Thats what I would go for

Hope that helps
Good luck

As pronounced above, goldfish are certainly chilly water fish and don't thrive with warmers while all of those different fish are tropical fish and hence do not thrive without one. A bala shark might circulate nicely with an the different way up catfish and a "sucker fish", yet bala's would desire to be in communities of six. in addition they adjust into large sizes whilst good cared for. do a splash diagnosis, perhaps.

The way it looks you can put around a small school of corys or tetras, but if you want algae control maybe another pleco that the same type.

But good choice on upgrading the tank since the goldfish can grow up to 2feet

Have fun

Well your combination already is kind of bad since it is a mix of cold water and tropical fish, that said move the tropical fish to one tank and the goldfish to another, try finding a cheap 29g+ tank on craigslist.com to put the goldfish or the pleco and upside down catfish.

Platy's are colourful and make a great addition to any tank. Maybe a few corydoras. Gourami's or silver dollars. Angel fish are easy to take car of as well.

I don't think any more fish are a good idea, unless you overfilter and do weekly water changes.
