Our constitution, our flag, our freedoms, our education, our election system, our tax system, just to name a few. Among our freedoms, we support people having the right to express themselves no matter how wrong they are nor how ignorant they are.

There are wonderful causes supported by both parties and there are major flaws in both.
I can't fathom sticking up for one party or another blindly.
A reasonable person should question when things are awry. I used to be a republican, but I can't in good conscience, support where our country has headed. The republican party has been ruined by mutants. Look at them. Look at Giuliani... What a joke. The only decent republican candidate who stands for the constitution and the very core of this country is Ron Paul. He is a true republican who believes in small government. Our government has been anything but small the past 6 years and what ever happened to our constitution?
I'm not impressed with any of the democratic candidates, but if Al Gore runs and the republicans don't nominate Ron Paul, I'm going with Al.

I suppose it's what definition you're using for the word, 'liberal'. The right wing radio nitwits and FOX have convinced a lot of people that the strawman 'liberal' they created constitutes a real population of real people. The 'strawman' is a terrible person capable of any crime that can be imagined. In real life, 'liberals' are most of the people in the United States. People that believe in fair play and liberty and justice for all. No, they're not 'commies', or 'socialists' or perverts or traitors. The reactionaries of the current GOP evidently need an 'inside' enemy to sell the american people their particular brand of hard right politics and policies. Don't believe them. The strawman doesn't exist. Americans across the board are decent, hardworking and honest people and anyone who tells you different is blowiing smok up your....ah....anatomy!

Small things like, well...
The Constitution, the rule of law not ideology, and the civil liberties enshrined in the Bill of Rights.
Mutual support and obligations among citizens, that is a personal responsibility for the community as well for ourselves.
Real and true support for our military--including adequate funding for returning troops in need of help and support.
Tolerance for diverse views, with the humility that comes from it (acknowledging always a possibility for error and inviting discourse to help root it out and correct it) and that also escapes neocons, anyway, and this administration, who seem to think they can do no wrong and those who disagree can do no right.

Helping those who need help. Diplomacy before war. Regulations that will allow companies to run but protect those who work for them. Clean air, water, and food. The right to privacy. Those are some of them. And I am sure I will get lots of thumbs down for saying it.

Dissent and division of the country, hiding behind the cloak they vehemently defend as "freedom of speech," of course.
