This question typifies exactly the problem with religion in general. People continually come out with the old cliche that it is not religion it is people, but the fact is that people are taught to be intolerant by their religious practices.
If someone said one of my relatives is gonna marry a black/white man/woman, they would be blasted as racist bigots yet clearly, when religion is mentioned everybody appears to just accept it because it is unacceptable to suggest that there is a holy war going on at every level in our society today, and people like me who believe in Darwin are ridiculed for saying it!
Recently we have seen a whole load of young girls killed as "honour" killings by their fathers and brothers because of this very question, because they disobayed their religion and got involved with boys unapproved by their parents. This very question implies to me that you are of that kind of background and I hope that I am wrong, but if I am not then please remember that this is the UK and we have laws which supercede any religious teachings which you might have had. Go in peace.

None of my business, that's how I would feel. If I did not like it then I would keep it to my self and never speak of it to anyone. Why cause a problem when one is not needed. Religion is nice and to have the same religion is great, especially if there are kids involved but if they are a good person. Why start something that has nothing to do with you.

My brother started dating someone of a very unrelated religion (christian to non-christian) in 1980.
His status then was well-off happy innocent and respectful of his family
He status today is married ,sectioned in a mental ward ,owes more than he can ever pay back, laughs/cries hysterically, and 50% of the time claims he is deeply in love and the other 50% of the time hates her and loves his family.
Note she feels more at ease now that my brother is getting the proper attention.
I clearly always knew she never loved him.

Beware of playing with fire.

Inter cultural, and inter religious marriage encourages unity among all. As long as the couple have done enough character study about how they are living together, how they are going to raise the kids together, etc. I will be fine with the relative who is dating(or going to marry) someone from another religion.

Hope this helps.

With all the relatives I have, not only is it likely someone dated or is dating someone from a different religion, likely they have married and are breeding with that person too.

Bottom line - so what? It's their lives and not my business how they choose to live it.

There are many good people of all faiths. If their relationship was serious enough that they were considering marriage, I would be concerned because it's difficult to be married and raise children together if you don't have the same religion.

It's fine.
My cousin (Anglican), moved to Thailand and has married a Thai woman who is Buddhist.
He has never particularly practised Christianity, but has embraced Buddhism completely.
He was a lovely bloke to start with, but Buddhism has made him even nicer.

I would have to tell them the truth, that I was a little concerned for them as I didnt know about that religion or how they would be treat, but that if they were happy then I would be happy that they were happy

I would not care as long as they were both happy.
That is the problem to many people with the view that we can't mix. And to many people telling us what we can and can't do for our own good.

It wouldn't bother me as long as my relative was being treated properly. Religion doesn't determine character.
