ok so im a doing a college paper on babysitting co-ops being better for parents than having a teenage babysitter watch there kids. with babysitting co-ops parents switch off child care and there is no exchanging of money. sounds good right? well im supporting the fact that babysitting co-ops are better than teen babysitter for reason such as: you dont need to pay about $10 to a babysitter bc with this its free, co-ops are avaible at almost all hrs of the day unlike with teens who have school and work, you get to help out other paretns in the same situation, and i have a few more supporting details.

So what you opinion?

PARENTS ONLY PLEASE!!

I can see what you mean by being worried about having a stranger watch you kid. I read that most co-ops provide monthly meeting for the parents to talk about things as well as background checks. They also mostly take place in neighborhoods. I do see you point though.

thanks for the input.

Well, I'm a mom and also a day care provider. While saving a few bucks wherever we can is vital anymore, I also feel that it's a small price to pay for stability. Children NEED routines as to not confuse them. However babysitting co-ops are WONDERFUL for the moms who aren't working and needing a steady provider. And co-ops offer the opportunity for "childhood friendships" to bud. I am all for Co-ops!!! (when it isn't an everyday thing)

I personally don't like co-ops parents switching of on child care. bc I really don't know these ppl. I don't know if they have child cpr. or if they are child molesters!
where if i, which i do, have my child in a fully licensed family daycare. which they have to have child cpr and have to have a criminal back ground check! and they are regulated! have a licencing officer! I would trust not ppl i didn't really know--bc you don't really know someone even if you think you do!!!
that is my thoughts...everyone will have a different opinion!!
that is our freedom! thanks and good luck on your paper!!
