this mucous that comes out thinner than usual is a sign that your period is coming and normally does so about 1-2 weeks before your period arrives..the state in which this mucous is in also is believed to let you know when you are most fertile..

If you haven't started your period yet. The discharge usually last like 3-6 months until u get your first period.

Most girls start getting discharge for AT LEAST a year before they get their 1st period.
After you get it, you will always have discharge, but it will be heavier at certain points during you cycle (when you are ovulating).

i havent had my period yet and ive had discharge since the beginning of this year sometime or around there.

It all depends on your flow really. It differs in girls.
Mine is normally a day before an a couple days after.
