That's so interesting because when I saw your question I was going to suggest that you find a major that forces you to not be shy. :) But since you've ruled that out, here are a couple of suggestions.
I've noticed that engineering majors can get away with not being particularly social. (I studied electrical and nuclear engineering in college, and if I had wanted to I could've finished everything without participating in too much socially) But truth be told, pretty much all courses of study eventually involve you presenting your information or working with fellow students.
In fact, about 90% of what you get out of college is the friendships and the fun and learning how to be social and interact with other people in different social situations. I was REALLY shy when I was in high school. In college, I was able to realize that no one knew me, so I was able to reinvent myself in new and fun ways. I ended up joining a fraternity which ended up not being my thing for a variety of reasons, but to each their own. You need to find out what is best for you, but at least consider using college as a way of growing beyond your current shyness -- it's really worth it!
BTW, college never helped me with my public speaking. I ended up getting solid speaking skills after I graduated from college and participated in a program called ToastMasters, which is a service organization that holds workshops on becoming better at public speaking, among other things. I had some fellow shy people do it at the same time with me, and after about 4 months of doing Toastmasters, I'm told I'm quite the dynamic speaker. :)
Engineering. Psychology. Biology. Physics. Any of the hard sciences that might require you to do a lot of research but hand off the results to a fellow student who might be better at presenting the results is probably a good match.
But again, look at college as an opportunity to grow beyond that. You'll only regret it if you don't try.
And btw, if you have a real serious phobia about public speaking and being around people, it's ok to talk to your doctor about these things. There might be some medical condition that is responsible for any feelings of anxiety that you might be feeling. Meditation is good too. :)
Good luck!

You may not give any presentations if you major in Math or one of the Sciences, I guess. However, I know people with bachelor's in both mathematics and psychology, and in sometime during their 4 years they had to present something to a class.
Sometimes, you have to present things to your professor or a board of professors, too. Any major requiring a thesis will also require a kind of speech, typically to a board of about 3 professors. Most majors in liberal arts will include presentations. And nearly all English classes require presentations, especially on the lower levels.
I don't think there's any way around it. At some point, even if its in an elective course, they are going to make you do a presentation/speech. And you won't know if your teacher wants you to present until you sign up for a class, go to the class, and get your syllabus. You may want to take a course in public speaking. Otherwise, you're going to be dropping classes left and right and may never graduate.
I'm a very shy person. I majored in English. I can't even count how many times I had to give a speech or a group presentation. Look at a presentation as your moment to shine, do you very best, don't be afraid of your peers because they all have to present too, and don't worry if they think it's boring because it wasn't your idea to give a speech anyway. I promise, if you exhibit confidence and relaxation behind a podium you totally sell everybody on your speech even if it wasn't particularly good.

First of all, I'd like to say that I too was very shy as a high school student and wanted to overcome that in college, so I signed up for classes in history and political science where there would be alot of debate and discussion. Honestly, almost every job requires communication skills, so its good to acquire those as much as you dread public speaking. I guess you could avoid political science, business, and communication majors.

You have a lot of options to choose from. You could major in architecture, some type of science, computer science, some type of engineering, math, statistics, etc. Check out this site: http://collegeboard.com/csearch/majors_careers/profiles/. It will let you browse different major and career options. It gives you information on what jobs with those majors typically involve. Good luck choosing! Don't worry; you have plenty of time to decide!

Try computer science or mathematics.
However, if you want to be successful in life as well as business, you should push yourself to learn how to do things that don't come easy to you.
