Hmmmm let me think...
Well if you give me time I will ask my talking horse and let you know then, I do have to get to the other side of my mirror in Wonderland because that is where he lives.. so it might take awhile.. I suggest you plant the beanstalks anyway in case I need to come down that way..
lol Have a great night!!

Omg......yes. The other night a homeless man was on the side of the street begging for money, so i gave him a ten. I felt bad for him, ya know. He had some nasty teeth, was covered in dirt, and kept talking to himself while his one eye wandered around. He looked at me with a tear in his good eye. He was so greatful he gave me some funky shimmering beans, right. And they were some really gooooood ones too. I planted them outside my bedroom window, and by about 3 or 4 am i had a bean stalk that stretched past view. So, i was like alright man......this is cool. Since jack decided he was brave enough to climb his bean stalk......i decided i would be brave and climb mine. It took forever, and ever. Finally i reached the top........and can u believe it there was no giant. Just lots and lots of big fluffy clouds. Maybe mine was defective??

no. the tale is written for that reason .moral is somethings are not as useless as they appear. reason not stated why theold man gave them to jack as he must have done something to be given them. the old man had to have had a reason to give them to him. usually in fairy tales it is because help has been offered when it is needed. geneticly modified foods can do much but at the momment cannot match the speed at which the beans grew.
