Question about Tokyo Mew Mew & Mew Mew Power?

Are the two shows the same? So if I were to watch episode 38 in Tokyo Mew Mew and then watch episode 39 in Mew Mew Power, will I know what's going on..? (Meaning are they the same show but the words are just put differently)

tokoyo mew mew is the japanese name for the show and mew mew power is how the U.S. chose to license it.

but often when the U.S. licenses something, they often cut episodes out that do not deal with the direct plot or find it is too much work to edit. so they might not be the same number if you are switching from japanese to american.

I'd get Tokyo Mew Mew if I were you. Mew Mew Power is simply the version produced for US audiences by 4Kids, and they usually aren't the best. The continuity can be messed up as well because of their editing.

They are the same show. Tokyo Mew Mew is the original title and for some reason 4kids decided to name it Mew Mew Power.

They aren't exactly the same. If you search it on Wikipedia or go here: http://mmpu.smuncensored.com/
They will show the differences between the English version and original Japanese version. I think that the English version twisted the story a little. And the dialogue and VA are bit queer. They also covered and cut parts that they think are inappropriate to kids. This took out some major important parts of the original. I recommend the Japanese version. It's original and better in my opinion.

they are the sam shows and i Recommend you watch the Japanese Virsion, then the USA Released so u understand whats happening and which one is making since and the start of US release is bad worst!!!! im glad i watched the japanese with english Subbtitled first and the US release just distroyed the show with everything and i was waiting for the English Dubbed US release!!!!
