I was thinking that in San Diego, it's just a short romp to Mexico, even if a third of the population flooded Mexico, bought no products, brought American food WITH them and all checked into the hospitals, applied for services, etc.
We could bankrupt their economy in a week.
What do you think?

Yeah, hurt the little guys...that should make you feel important. Do you know that the government keeps its people so poor while they are so rich from all the tourism?

In Cancun a decade ago the best of workers made only $9 a day...the average working income was $3.

I sat on the beach and order a hamburger and paid something like $2 for it while a Mexican got it for the equivalent of a dime. Difference in cultures no?

I met a woman whose husband chopped her arm to pieces with a machete so people on the beach in Acapulco would feel sorry for her when she begged for money.
That's the kind of society Mexico it...corrupt and abusive...and there is a lot of suffering.

I think if you spent a week in a real Mexican village you'd have a much better understanding of why people want out.

In someways there is already some parts of Mexico that is pretty Americanized. My mother moved to Cabo Sanlucas about 3 years ago and it is pretty much Americans anc Canadians that live and work there plus it's considered the Baja California Penisula. There are many American business that have moved into Cabo like Costco and Home Depot and now they are building a Walmart store down there. What urkes me is the mexicans come here illegaly and don't have the proper paper work and are stealing identity and other things to either get a job or don't pay taxes. But if you move to there country you need to have a work visa and proper paper work like you need here in the U.S. to work. Plus if I wanted to work like at Hard Rock Cafe in Cabo or any place like Costco I can't because they will only hire you if your from there country. The only places my mother can work is at the resorts. otherwise she cant work anywhere else down there.

There are no services in Mexico-people beg on the streets. Mexican hospitals are to be avoided if you want to get well. The government is corrupt and that is the reason they can't get it together to provide services and jobs for the citizens there. If you go there and get a bunch together to start a revolt you will end up in a prison from which there is no exit.

I say go for it. I've been to many different parts of Mexico & I can assure you that most of the Americans I know couldn't even make it a week. I would like however to send those self-righteous & intolerant people to Mexico so they could get a big dose of reality AND compassion for their neighbors & fellow human beings living in below poverty level conditions.

Matthew 22:37-40
37 Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

The only way to jack up their economy is by stopping the masses of American Dollars that Mexican nationals send them. Did you know that Mexico's number one import is the American Dollar? Yep, find a way to stop this and you'll stop their economy altogether.

Well! If you wanted to make us laugh, you certainly succeeded with me! Seriously though, I think their economy must already be bankrupt. Don'tcha think? What IS wrong with their government down there that they can't create enough jobs to give there people a decent life? We are not in the dark ages here. Just makes me want to SHAKE them!

Better yet, send them all back, then when you are in the mood for some fresh fruit go pick it off the tree yourself or better yet, work on the fruit farm 12 hours a day for 2.50 an hour, apply for welfare and eat the only thing you can afford, rice and beans.

OK I think this question will probably get deleted.
I'm from Australia so I have no idea about any problems that Americans may have with Mexicans :-)
