Why were the charges dropped against John Mark Karr? If they have more evidence, could they bring more charges against him? Sure, the USA has a "double-jeopardy" law but is there a way around it?

John Mark Karr wasn't even in the same state at the time. He is just a lunatic weirdo trying to claim he did something he didn't do. I'm guessing that some other lunatic weirdo (no, not her parents) killed her and we never know who.

Oh, and the "double jeopardy" thing doesn't come into play unless the person was tried and acquited of a crime - he can't be charged again with the same crime. John Mark Karr was never charged or tried for it.

From all I have ever read, it has to be some one close to the Ramsey family that they felt it was an "accident" and the need for a cover-up afterward. The timeline just doesn't quite jive...always wondered if it was the younger brother in a "game", maybe something the budding teen had seen on cable t.v., that went awry and the parents tried to protect him with a cover-up...too much about their story and time line never jived.

John Mark Karr was only proven to be an attention whore that was no where near the scene proven by many documents, and his only connection was that had at one time knew the victim and had a fixation on being in the media.

Even so, double jeopary would not apply to anyone in this case because they have not been charge and convicted of anything...the test is that a person cannot be charged with the same crime and same evidence.

certainly, her parents did not kill her or have her removed from the house! now think about it. here you have a pretty little girl that likes to dress up in costumes and wants to be a little star. parents adore their children, and when their little girl dresses up all nice, daddy is so proud of her. no, the parents just couldn't have had anything at all to do with it. and now the mother died from cancer, surely from the stress (cancer is primarily caused by stress) put upon her after she passed at least two lie detector tests. how many did dad pass?

those poor parents have been strung up and practically hung. the child protection agencies are sheer witch hunters. they are the only "accusers" that do not have to show the accused who said what, when, and how. the accused are guilty until they prove themselves innocent. they are not afforded EVEN ONE constitutional protection that even a petty thief can get, such as a speedy trial (they take kids away from "suspected" parents for up to 7 years--oftentimes placing them into foster homes that are more neglectful and dangerous than the family home). you are not allowed to know your accuser. you have no right to get a court appointed attorney if you cannot pay for an attorney. anything that you say will certainly be put into the file so that the false accusation, such as these weird suspicions of the ramseys of killing their little girl, is perpetuated without any type of proof. it can even be continued and dragged out based upon DOUBLE HEARSAY! where is due process in a case like that? that little girl will someday be found as bones rotting somewhere in a CO forest. eventually they will find who took her and who killed her. i hope that he gets electrocuted.

how cold and heartless you are to question the parents even at such a far date from the crime. you must be ill in your mind. nothing points to the parents being at fault.

Her parents. They lawyered up as soon as her body was found and it was her dad who found her after the police had searched the house thoroughly. Also, it seemed to be mighty coincidental that the alarm system was off and not working as of the day before the murder. Finally, the mother pretended to have sprung her hand when they asked her to give a handwriting sample. It's just too much evidence against them.

Most likely the parents how could someone sleep through her being taken downstairs and being killed I sleep pretty deeply but if someone was screaming you wake up and investigate. They can bring on the same charges if they wanted to because it was not tried for them he was charged with them. If they found more evidence that could have showed he did it sure. Its America there's a way around everything.

The perverted father, for sure. He's so cold and phoney--just a like a politician. And they got special treatment from the police--just like politicians.
