I am so sorry to hear about your sister :( Anyways, I know a song that is absolutely perfect for the occasion, it is one of my all time favorite songs and always makes me cry, and I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet. It is sung by the Queen of Country herself, the one and only Reba McEntire.. If you remember back in 1991 she lost 7 band members and her tour manager to a plane crash. Anyhow, after it happened she released a song called "If I Had Only Known" which she dedicated to all of them.. It is a very beautiful yet touching song and is very true.. This would be my first choice.. I can send it to you if you'd like. Just let me know.

If I Had Only Known

If I had only known
It was the last walk in the rain
I'd keep you out for hours in the storm
I would hold your hand
Like a life line to my heart
Underneath the thunder we'd be warm
If I had only known
It was our last walk in the rain

If I had only known
I'd never hear your voice again
I'd memorize each thing you ever said
And on those lonely nights
I could think of them once more
Keep your words alive inside my head
If I had only known
I'd never hear your voice again

You were the treasure in my hand
You were the one who always stood beside me
So unaware I foolishly believed
That you would always be there
But then there came a day
And I turned my head and you slipped away

If I had only known
It was my last night by your side
I'd pray a miracle would stop the dawn
And when you'd smile at me
I would look into your eyes
And make sure you know my love
For you goes on and on
If I had only known
If I had only known
The love I would've shown
If I had only known

Honestly I couldn't tell you. Because the best songs to play at her funeral are really the ones that she loved. That's what a funeral is all about.....remembering the life of the loved one that you lost. Try going through her old CD's, tapes, MP3's, and play the ones that she loved the most!

And remember she is home already! You could even add in some songs like "God, only crys for the living"

I'm so sorry about your loss. It's terrible enough when you lose a loved one, but even worse when it's unexpected and much too soon... Here are a few songs that I've always loved (and I think they would be appropriate.)

I Believe- Diamond Rio (It always makes me think of my Dad and makes me feel a little better, knowing that he's somewhere better but still always with me.)

Three Wooden Crosses-Randy Travis (We played this at my Dad's memorial service.)

Holes In The Floor Of Heaven-Collin Raye

I'll Wait For You-Joe Nichols

Remember When-Alan Jackson

Tell Me I Was Dreaming-Travis Tritt

Tonight I Wanna Cry-Keith Urban

Stay strong!

first of all i am very sorry for your loss and even though i dont know you i will be praying for you and your family i know a good song that is perfect it is who youd be today be kenny chesney

sunny days seem to hurt the most
i wear the pain like a heavy coat
i feel you everywhere i go
i see your smile i see your face
hear you laughin in the rain
still cant belive your gone

it aint fair you die to young
like a story that had just begun
but death tore the pages all away
god knows how i miss you
all the hell that i been throu just knowin
no one can take your place
sometimes i wonder who youd be today

would you see the world would you chase your dreams
settle down with a family
i wonder what would you name your babies
some days the skies so blue
i feel like i can talk to you
i know it might sound crazy

it aint fair you die to young
like a story that had just begun
but death tore the pages all away
god knows how i miss you
all the hell that i been through
just knowing noone could take your place
sometimes i wonder
who youd be today

today, today

sunny days seem to hurt the most
i wear the pain like a heavy coat
the only thing that gives me hope
is i know i'll see you again someday

someday, someday

If she has children I would suggest "Will The Circle Be Unbroken."

Chorus
Will the circle be unbroken
Bye and bye, Lord, bye and bye
There's a better home a-waiting
In the sky, Lord, in the sky

I was standing by my window
One cold December day
When I saw the hearse come rolling
For to carry my mother away

[Chorus]

Lord I told the undertaker
Undertaker please drive slow
For this body you are taking
Lord I hate to see her go

[Chorus]

I followed close behind her
Tried to hold up and be brave
But I could not hide my sorrow
When they laid her in the grave

[Chorus]

I went home, my home was empty
Now my mother she has gone
All my brothers, sisters sitting crying
What a home so sad and alone

Elvis Presley also had so many good spiritual songs.
So sorry for your loss.

First of all, I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. 46 is so young.

If she has children how about "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack? I always thought if I died young I would want that dedicated to my children at the funeral. Even if she doesn't have kids it would be like an afterlife hope for the futures of her friends & family but only you would be able to determine if that's something she would do or something that would suit her personality.

Praise Through the Storm
Casting Crowns

I was sure by now / That You would have reached down / And wiped our tears away / stepped in and saved the day / but once again, I say "Amen," and its still raining

As the thunder rolls / I barely hear you whisper through the rain / "I'm with you" / And as Your mercy falls / I raise my hands and praise the God that gives / And takes away

I'll Praise you in this storm / And I will lift my hands / For You are who You are / No matter where I am / Every tear I've cried / You hold in your hand / You never left my side / And though my heart is torn / I will Praise You in this storm

I remember when / I stumbled in the wind / You herd my cry / You raised me up again / My strength is almost gone / How can i carry on / If I can't Find you

I lift my eyes into the hills / Where does my help come from? / My help comes from the Lord / The maker of Heaven and Earth

I lift my eyes into the hills / Where does my help come from? / My help comes from the Lord / The maker of Heaven and Earth

I'll Praise you in this storm / And I will lift my hands / For You are who You are / No matter where I am / Every tear I've cried / You hold in your hand / You never left my side / And though my heart is torn / I will Praise You in this storm

And though my heart is torn / I will Praise You in this storm.

I am sorry for your loss. May our Heavenly Father send His Great Comforter to be with the family and friends at this time.
