Okay, to start off, I am a happily Married woman and I am 20 years of age (if that helps any) I am use to having periods that last for only 4-5 days (sometimes even 3 days) However, this month, it's WAY different. I started of the 1st, and it went on 10 days...after that, it stopped for a week and it's back again! (all together, this is my 13th going into 14th day of this bleeding.) I feel strongly that it's not my period. Any opinions on this? P.S. I get REAL bad cramps with it, and my nipples hurt like crazy...I hope I am not misscarrying! oh yeah, and I tried the rasperry tea thing, and it worked for a week (thats why it stopped) but yeah...it's back! :(

You just said you hope that you're not miscarrying. Are you pregnant??? If so, you need to talk to your doctor ASAP! This could be your hormones simply going out of whack, but it could also be something more serious, like a miscarriage. If that's the case, you need to be checked and have a D & C done if you miscarried (it helps to clean the pregnancy out).

If you are not pregnant, it could be your period. Have you started any new birth control lately? Usually when you have weird periods after learning your cycle, it's because of hormonal changes, which can happen with new birth control (breakthrough bleeding is one side effect). Usually the side effects don't include tender breasts and nipples though.

Whatever is going on, I think I would seek the advice of my doctor if I was us. Just in case.

You said you hope this is not a miscarriage. Are you pregnant? If so and the bleending is light, it could possibly be implant bleeding, but maybe not for this long. If the cramps are really bad, sorry to say but I think a miscarriage is possible. I am by no means an expert though.

What kind of birth control are you on? It sounds like a Depo Provera shot gone haywire. Have you been to see a doctor yet about possible cysts or endometriosis? I think I would have my gyno rule these possibilities out before I start thinking miscarriage.

But birth control pills, patches and shots have a way of screwing up your cycles and sometimes the period itself.

What you describe is most definitely not normal. You should see a doctor immediately. Go to your local emergency room.

See your Gyn.

This happened to me back in 1992 and it was due to hormones and I had stopped ovulating.

If you're pregnant, it's another story.

See your Gyn.

Hun, this sounds like a matter that none of us could answer for you. You need to go to your gynecologist about this because it could be numerous things ranging from miscarrying to uterine cancer or anything of that sort. So, please go get a professional's opinon. :)
