What the anime you think every one should watch and why does it mean some thing to you?

Fushigi Yuugi, it is a classic. :) i think it reaches a lot of different people, something for everyone. The complete DVD collection is not that much. ;)

Naruto- it has action, some romance, comedy, serious moments, a great plot, and detailed characters and their personalities, some power and monster stuff with chakra and the jinchurriki that house the tailed monsters. it has a mix of almost everything and would fit probably almost anyones guidelines or whatever. it technically is just a great show period. you can watch it on youtube or veoh. but if you don't want to search for the episodes since youtube deletes all anime, then go on this link, it has all of the eps and links you right to the videos and it updates the series as new eps show in japan.

Fullmetal Alchemist is a must sometimes it airs on adult swim. The plot line is fun theres many punches and over all the art and english dubs are the best.
I personally like Elfen Lied, people say its really twisted and gross but I do admit its gory but I do love it. One of my top picks.
Death Note is also a huge plus. The thinking they do to solve cases sends endless twists and cliffhangers that make you want to know what happens and its always fun trying to guess what happens next.
If you like romance, drama, or some romance comedy I suggest Strawberry Panic, Suzuka (in japanese), Nana, and Lovely Complex.
They are all really cute and highly addictive and each of the shows have a twist that is unique~
Nana is very tear wrenching I even cried a at few parts. Its finally all uploaded but thats not the point. I love Nana dearly but I do not suggest watching the movie, doesn't catch as much as the anime does.
Check out veoh.com or crunchyroll.com (you need to register but its worth it) they both have nearly every anime you can imagine.

Dragon Ball
It was my first anime and I loved it. It was really funny and had great chacters. Goku is just someone you gotta love. So pure, sincere, loving and a... little bit slow. But he was tough when fighting opponets, yet so gentle with other people. I just love his huge apptiette and he was so adorable when he was younger. Dragon Ball showed how Goku grew up to become who he is today. A Fighter..A Friend...and A Father. Dragon Ball was a show for all ages and had a great story. No wonder so many people still watch it. I think I was so into the show that when ever one of Goku's close firends died I would cry. Strange, I even cried when Goku and Chi-Chi got married.

Cowboy Bebop. The reason why I chose this anime is that not only is the storyline, characters and the actual animation is top notch (especially back in the 90's when this was made), it combined a super superb soundtrack. The music just put the anime over the top!

One Piece, because it has everything any anime fan wants, and it has a long story and probably an endless episodes because it suits and fits the story straight right, you'll not get bored, but actually you'll be excited of what will happen in the next episode, so it's THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!

Fullmetal ALchemist- it's got everything u want in a anime- exept perverted parts which makes it great.

inuyasha, it has everything you need in an anime, love ,alot of action , jealousy,lol, sadness, just everything you can think of its my favorite anime, you might also like fullmetal alchemist or bleach
