I am not going to lie and say that is doesnt hurt just to get the best answer...but yes it will hurt a bit...I got my tongue pierced about 4 years ago when everyone else was doing it...they will mark ur belly with a blue pen and then tell you to take a deep breath then they will jab the needle through the thick skin on the lining of your bellybutton you might feel it at the most for a minute or two...but that doesnt hurt near as bad......as changing your belly button ring for the first time...or the first time you take your jewelry out to clean it....but evetually it will heal and you will be just fine and enjoying your new stylish piercing!!! good luck 2ya

It does not hurt alot when your doing it, like others have said. Just like an earpiercing, a pinch. The most "pain" will be the soreness afterwards...maybe the day after or so. Keeping it clean so it can heal fast is very important. Also it depends on how "shallow" it is pierced how long it takes to heal. If that's all that is stopping you from getting it and you really want it, go do it. It will be over before you know it. :-)

Never had it done, so I can't tell you for sure if it hurts. I'm sure it does hurt a little, even if only a pinch....like getting your ear pierced. Just be sure you have it done by a very reputable business and a very capable individual. Be sure the business is clean and uses all sanitary precautions. Then be sure to take care of the piercing and keep it clean and free of infection until it heals. I'm sure it will be okay. I think body piercings are artistic and interesting. Power to you, girl!

i wouldn't worry about the pain, but the risks!
Risks can include painful and potentially serious infection of the abdomen and blood poisoning. Improperly sterilized equipment can spread infections. An amateur body piercer can also cause nerve damage or scarring. Infection can still occur even when properly sterilized equipment is used. An infected piercing hurts, looks red and swollen, can weep and may feel hot to the touch. If your piercing looks infected, see a medical professional or body piercer for treatment!
I'm sure you still want to get it anyways...my friend got hers done, she got a little infection but nothing bad. She likes it, but wishes she could take it out on some occasions (you can't take it out or it will close up, unless you want it to close up. she feels like if shes with her new boyfriend, his mom will make judgements from the belly ring.. ) Also, it will have people look at your stomach, so make sure you are confident!
Not trying to scare you, lots of people love it, so have fun.

Hi i have my nose, ears, and belly pierced. My nose REAAAALLY HURT honestly if you can deal with your ears you can DEFINITELY deal with your belly! Its very fast and doesn't hurt bad at all. The piercing hurts alot more AFTER then the actual piercing process - like cleaning and if you accidentally snag it on your shirt or pants. So just be careful and gentle afterwards. I would say go for it - REALLY it doesnt hurt and is VERY fast - it feels like a pinch for a half of a sec!

I had mine peirced for 7 years. I got it peirced when I was 16. It feels like a hard pinch for like a second and they have to put this clamp on your belly button which is a little uncomofortable. But all the pain is over in a second. Afterwards its a little soar and bleeds a little but its nothing major. Tatoos hurt worse

it's a slight pain for about 1-2 seconds nothing major. it doesn't really hurt after the initial couple seconds. it tender for a bout a week, but it isn't tonnes of pain... unless it get's infected. make sure nothing get's caught on it because that can hurt if it pulls it too hard!
make sure to clean it twice a day with tea tree soap. if you notice any puss take it out right away.
hope this helps

It will hurt, but only badly for a few seconds, and then mildly for about a day, and then will be tender to the touch for a few. But if you have any tolerance for pain, it's worth it. The worst is over after a few seconds.
