Can somebody please explain to me what sea monkeys are?

We never had them here when I was little but they come up as a common pop culture reference all the time.

They are actually little Brine Shrimp.

They come dehydrated with food and a little "aquarium" and when you add them to water, they come back to life.

OMG~! I can't beleive that you have never had sea-monkeys!! The best thing ever. They come in a little package and you grow them. (hatch) They eat like every 3-4 days. Any way they are great!
