Because here it is the right side of the rode and we use miles and inches because to us they are not confusing

Hahaha I feel dumb...I thought that rode looked wrong but I couldn't think of the real way so I copied yours. I stand corrected we drive on the right side of the ROAD to us.

Because it confuses Europeans.
We drive on the right because the driver usually sat on the left side of the bench when operating a wagon because the right hand is the dominant hand and therefore the stronger on the reins. (He could then ensure that passing wagons didn't tangle the wheels together.) We just naturally kept the same conditions when we changed to cars.
I'm not sure why we use miles and inches but attempts to change it haven't met much success.

"Wrong" is a matter of perspective my friend. But yes, they do drive on the opposite side to the British and Indian system. I believe the British system is based on dueling. Centuries ago, people would steer their horse with their left hand because they needed to hold their weapon in their right hand. Hence why the driver's seat is on the right side, where you steer with the left and could give signals with the right hand. The Americans probably thought it was better to steer with the right.

As for the miles and inches, they want to be different, but for most scientific purposes, the metric system is heavily used even by Americans.

If you're so "English", why haven't you commanded the language? It's a "road"...even in the U.K.! By the way, the automobile was invented in Germany, so who drives on the wrong side of the road?
