foliated and nonfoliated. foliated metamorphic rocks are formed under conditions of directed stress and non foliated rocks are more often formed by high heat and low pressure. Some rocks remain non foliated even under conditions of directed stress because the minerals do not take on a prefered orientation. Marble and Quartzite are 2 examples.

Contact and regional are the two types of metamorphism.

Contact metamorphism occurs in small areas where a pocket of hot magma intrudes colder rock causing metamorphism around the edges or the pocket.

Regional metamorphism happens over large areas and is associated with mountain ranges and subduction zones.

Two types of metamorphic rocks are foliated and non-foliated. Foliated rocks have their crystals and platy minerals arranged all in the same orientation because of pressure pushing them all one way. Non foliated rocks have no preferred orientation of their crystals.

Metamorphism =/= metamorphic rocks! Two very different terms.

Ditto with jersum27.
