is there that much of a difference between the two products?
if you're wearing a brand name shirt and someone has the exact same shirt but it's not a brand name, does that make you any better than them...???

It certainly isn't anything new. I did the same as a teenager. Even my mom growing up had to have a certain brand of shoes and a certain kind of poodle skirt to feel like she fit in.

Brands don't make anyone better than anyone else. I wish all high school would make uniforms mandatory because there are more important things to be thinking about in school.

Nothing makes one person better than another person.. different maybe, but not better. My daughter wears name brand clothing, but she doesn't buy her clothes brand new.. not only does she shop at a really nice second hand store for teen name brand clothes, but she works there and also gets a substancial employee discount. So, if someone were to decide that she was 'better' because she wears name brand clothes, they'd be making that assumption in error.. we're not better, we're frugal! :)

Yeah its pretty stupid. When I was in middle school I thought I would die if I didn't have those $200.00 dollar Jordans. Its lame, now I have been wearing the same pair of 20 dollar shoes for like 2 months...jeez I think I need to go get some new shoes now that I think about it. lol

No, Teenager mentality, they think the more something costs the better it is. I didn't pass through that I was taught to optimize cost, I didn't care if it was Polo Ralph Lauren or unknown brand. Just cared that it was confortable
