Bush didn't jail the border guards. The judicial system did. The real question is why hasn't he pardoned them yet?

The gaurds were convicted by a jury. The President cannot do anything about that except grant a pardon or commute the sentence (just like he's done with Scooter Libby).

President Bush did not jail the border guards; but, he can pardon them.

"Fifty-one members of Congress on Dec. 11 sent a letter to President Bush
asking that he commute the sentences of or pardon two U.S. Border Patrol officers sentenced to a combined 20 years for shooting a fleeing illegal alien drug trafficker they had caught smuggling 80 pounds of marijuana and 20 pounds of cocaine across the border from Mexico."

1. Bush didn't, our justice system did.
2. Sorry, but border guards DON'T have the right to simply shoot someone coming over the border, as many of the radical protectionists / racists would like them to do.

Truth Seeker said it best.

Drug dealers, 90%-98% are guilty of assisted suicide, murder, or wreckless endangerment, they sell ILLEGLE DRUGS that can KILL you the FIRST TIME you use them such as heroine, coke, LSD, and many more...to me all i see is 2 innocent men (guards) trying to protect the general welfare of people in the US, because of the border guards, several people wont die from overdose!!!

Maybe Bush has respect for our judicial system. The men had a fair trial, just like any other suspected criminal and were found guilty. Please don't compare Scooter Libby either, not in the same arena.

If that disgusts you, I can't imagine how you feel about these same drug runners are now suing the United States for millions of dollars - and they're free.
The injustice of this whole debacle is absolutely ridiculous.

He didn't. The judicial system did, after a judge and jury convicted them of the charges.

Those men where convicted by a jury of their peers. They covered up a crime that's why they're where they belong.
