I want to add a speaker output to my Marshall 30 Watt amp to drive a Marshall 4X12 cabinet, would this work? I'm thinking my amp should have enough power to drive some sort of a cabinet, because my old 15 Watt amp has a cabinet output.

Conceivably, yeah that could work. You can drive a 4x12 with a pocket sized Smokey amp for about 20 minutes if you wanted. The only thing I can think of that you have to watch out for is that the resistance in Ohms (usually 8 or 16) matches the head (here, your 30 watt amp) and your cab. I still only have a mid-sized combo, but I wouldn't recommend using your combo (which is probably solid state) to drive a cab; it just isn't designed to do that and won't sound as good (the speakers are probably rated for a higher wattage so they won't be as loud as they can be or sound as good) and won't even compare to a true tube head. The only issue there is the large step up in cost. For the time being, you might be better off investing in a higher wattage combo amp that's in demand so you can resell it or trade it up when you have enough money to buy a good head/cab. Hope it works out for you though.

purely way you may plug a blend amp immediately right into a cab is that if it has a speaker or line out plug in. plus you have the desire to make confident your ohms tournament up with the cab you purchase.
