He is definitely wrong- no doubt. While you had me laughing out loud about throwing wet, buttered popcorn at him, I disagree with your move. I know it would be extremely inconvenient to stop watching the movie and go get staff, but someone has got to do something about him. Yeah, at first I would go talk to him and ask him to put it away. If he doesn't I'll tell him I'm going to get a staff member and he will risk being kicked out of the movie theater, and give him some good hard reasoning to turn off the laptop and enjoy the movie he came to watch.

NO, you should rather watch movie in the laptop at home(definitely not at the Theater). Because
1)It is an intrusion to others who are watching the movie. (Esp the light will be annoying and intrude others from watching the movie, behind you, around you) . . . . . UNLESS You are sitting in last row in the either corner of the seat(left or right).
2)You are wasting your money & time, you might as well watch the movie in your laptop at home.
Hope this helps.

yeah it is. Plus why would you pay to see a movie if you are just going to watch a different one on your laptop. It's a waste of money. Plus the light from the laptop would annoy people. You might get some popcorn, or worse, thrown at your head. I'd highly suggest not doing that.

Would you bring dinner to the restaurant?
Would you take you clean clothes to the Cleaners?
Should your date bring a spare?
What purpose would be served to get dressed, and pay money to ignore the feature and watch another movie?
It would be wrong if you did not sit in the back and use quiet headphones. But why?
You are paying money to sit in the dark and risk being ejected for being rude and considered stupid. Why?
Yes, it would be wrong. Bring a book and watch the movie when it starts.

Well, it's not really wrong, as long as you use earphones so you don't distract anyone but is it practical?
If you can handle two movies at once and that's how you get your kicks, it's up to you.
But if not, wouldn't another place where they don't charge you admission be better? You won't waste your money.

All right, now I want you to focus,ok? You just spent 8 dollars on a ticket, 10 dollars on snack crap, gas to drive over there, little kids carrying sodas too big for them and could spill anywhere, your labtop would probably be confiscated, and the gas back home. So what're you going to do????

As long as you bring quite head phones and don't laugh or talk the whole time at some autistic tone.
Then no do what you want you paid for the ticket.
