Hey, buddy...PC is not an issue for anyone with intelligence and a fully-developed vocabulary.

The opposition to "political correctness" is nothing more than dissemblance; a smokescreen or camo to disguise their own insults, slurs, labels and invectives at those of opposing political philosophies.

Name-calling is akin to hitting your opponent over the head with a club, an approach to issues that should have been left with the cave dwellers. Rational, fact-filled argumentation is one of civilization’s greatest achievements.
All people in a free society benefit when discourse is civil, which means that it should be reasoned, fact-filled, literate, and specific.

Honesty doesn't mean a complete gut-spilling, nor does it require that harsh or cruel words be used to convey one's honest thoughts.

Thoughts or opinions need not be expressed in the most offensive way.

So what's with all the name calling? How old are you?

I don't think it will bring us to our knees, but I do think it's ridiculous. I'm 4'10" tall. I'm not "vertically challenged"----I'm SHORT! And if someone is of Mexican descent, they should be proud to say "I'm Mexican". No matter what your heritage, be proud of it. I'm a Heinz 57 myself, an All-American Mutt, and I'm proud of every race/ethnicity in my body.

However, I think calling people "diaper-heads" is very derogatory and insulting. You can avoid being PC without being hateful by simply calling them Muslims. Also, I sincerely doubt every Muslim who prays before they get on a plane is planning on flying it into a building.

If this is the attitude you are going to take, perhaps you should avoid calling yourself American Man because you might give the impression that all American men think the same as you, and that's something I just simply do not believe.

I believe political correctness started out with admirable intentions - unfortunately, it grew tentacles and now pretty much invades every aspect of our lives, our security and our sanity.
I don't believe it was PC that defeated the amendment to exclude their right to sue individuals for reporting suspicious behavior - it was the trial lawyer lobbies and 39 democrats.
To answer your question, if we keep bowing down to every whim of the immigrants who apparently choose not to assimilate and become Americans but rather to import their old country, language, customs and norms to our country, we will indeed become a fragmented, multi-language, divided country.
All political correctness needs to be acceptable is just a smidgen of common sense - and that is presently sorely missing.

Not that "PC" ever helped a great deal, but it is ridiculous to think that a nation of people who don't offend each other could bring it to its knees. The demise of this country will be from plain old ignorance, sorry to say.

Amen, you strong, erudite American man! PC has all but brought this country to its knees and it's about time people realized how damn dangerous it is! I think I love you!

PC doesn't stop wiretap, PC doesn't stop torture of detainees. How in the hec PC effect anything? It's just public debate. Nothing regarding PC is going to stop gov from doing whatever they want to do. Did you not watch TV for last 6 years? You think we torture people and put people in GITMO because we care about PC?? Give me a BREAK!

No wonder we got hit on 911. People get their house robbed, broken into and blame PC and invisible doo doo.

What's going to bring us down is stupid & over simplified ideas like we should kick out all Muslims or we should trample all over constitution just to listen to some cheat chat between couple of dumb dumbs.

Sure, kick out all Muslims when your neighbor might be logging into al Qaida website and becoming the next suicide bomber in the US.

Political correctness does not necessarily mean correct. It was politically correct to hate Jews in Nazi Germany. Political correctness is an attempt to replace traditional moral values with those that are popular, which means the morals of Hollywood, generally, and the socialists who want to run everyone else's lives.
