The YANKEES! 26 time world champions! I know that everyone is saying that they suck this season, but they've been hot since the all-star break. They scored 21 runs yesterday!!!

You have to learn that being a fan is not about just supporting your team when they're good, but through thick and thin. Supporting a team because they're a "great team" with "great history" has the stink of a bandwagon jumper.
Inevitably, the Yankees at some point are going to suck again, like they did from the mid 60s to the mid 70s, or the late 80s and early 90s. Will you still be a fan of them at that point?
I'm not saying you shouldn't be a Yankees fan. But being a Yankees fan because they're a good team is a very hollow reason. Whichever team you pick, go with your heart, and your heart only.
Me, I'm with the Mets.

You should so cheer for the yankees because they are a good team that will come back from this season. They also have a lot of good players who are doing great. But most of all they have the best person on the team Alex Rodrigues the one and only A-Rod!!!!!!!

If your asking a matter of personal conscience such as this on Yahoo Answers, I would have to think that you really don't care too much one way or the other and only care to be a "fair-weather fan." In that case, root for the Yankees, it seems to be the favorite choice of bandwagoners...

Well I'm from Atlanta, and my experience is mostly with Mets fans and they are as a whole a gang of terds. I hate the yanks too, but they do have alot of tradition and uniforms that dont look like the inside of a 70's playboy mansion.
