Well, yesterday my mom kind of had a crisis, we were laughing, but then, all of a sudden she gets pissed and decides to throw my xbox 360 in the river, now, I got it out of the water, but I am letting it dry before turning it on because I dont want any chances of it screwing up for good, so I let it dry overnight, I am going to let it dry tonight too... I took a blowdryer and tried to make the water evaporate... I opened it up as much as I could, but its ver tough to get the sides off. its just a big box of metal. Somehow, the case seems apparently strong and there is not much damage, maybe the lens broke inside, but I can replace that, the controllers are gone for good and my internet chip is too, the hard drive might be a lost cause but seems dry...everything seems dry, I think: Even if water goes in it, there was no electricity, and without electricity, its just a bunch of pieces of metal.

Wow..your mom's a b****! That said, it will most likely suffer damage if it was submerged completely. I'd try it out on a connection with a surge protector.

Well as strange and unlikely as your story sounds, i'll try to give it a serious answer.

There is almost no chance of it working again. The 360 is designed like a conventional computer. The motherboard will be shorted out, and very little, if anything, is water proof.

HAHA, Into a river?!?! That's a first for me. Hah..still laughing, sorry.

Um, water damage is a Maybe/Maybe not, it depends on how water resistant your Xbox was feeling that day (seriously).

I would let it dry 3 days minimum, just in case.

I hate to suggest going this long without gaming but I would leave it for about 2 weeks. You want to make sure all the moisture is completely gone.

I've had a lot of luck with electronics getting wet and still working. I think your chances are as good as any -- about 50/50. Good luck.

Don't turn it on for about a week, maybe a little less. Then the only thing you can do is turn it on a hope it works.

uh, i have no idea but your mom needs to seek some help for her anger issues....

i'm guessing if you threw something of hers into the river you'd have to pay for it.....
