Generally, employment is at will meaning you can be terminated for any reason or no reason at all so long as the reason is not prohibited by law.

Not for something like that. You have the right to make a fool of yourself. And all that coworker did was make themself look like a bitter idiot. That isn't something to do.
Now, if you had gone out and broke a law, or gotten arrested for some of your conduct, then yes - that could be taken into account and cause you to lose your job. What you need to remember is that you are still a representative of the business you work for - even off the clock. If something could come back and cause the business to look bad, then a business would not hesitate to get rid of an employee.
But just getting drunk and acting like a fool? I am sure the manager has done that a time or two as well. I think you would be hard pressed to find someone that has NEVER done something they had been embarrassed of doing.

No you cannot...it is not legal to fire someone for extracurricular activities unless it is a company-sponsored event. If you are going out with people you work with, you should learn to control yourself. It is not wise to act the fool around fellow workers, especially when drinking. Learn to curb your alcohol intake. Things always have a way of coming back to haunt you. Unless your actions directly affect your job (for instance an airline pilot who is drinking and has to fly an aircraft the next day, or an emergency or medical professional who is on-call), they legally cannot fire you. It is suggested that you talk with your manager and apologize for your behavior. Let the manager know that you had no reason to believe the pictures would be circulated at work, and that you are embarrassed by them. Avoid the co-worker who sent them at all costs. That person is not your friend, and it appears they are attempting to have you fire. Get to your boss first. I am surprised the boss has not reprimanded the person who sent the pictures, since it is generally against many company's policies to send any personal subject matter. What your coworker did was in extremely poor taste.

Greetings! If that was all that the pic was then you probably won't be fired. You may have some explaining to do to your boss, and perhaps an apology may be due, especially if you somehow upset some company standard. Having said that, just acknowledge your humanity and made a mistake in judgment.
When people get drunk, people get stupid and do stupid things (been there myself and done that). Just chalk it up to that.
And while I am chalking, I would definitely find another group of people to hang out with and avoid that hateful coworker.
Life is too short to have to put up with snots like that.
Take care.

Unless it was a function that you were attending for work or you were wearing a uniform representing your company they can not fire you for what you do outside of work. They can't even fired you for what you claim either. They can sit down and talk with you to ask you not to do these types of things while at company functions or wearing their business name. The idiot that took the pictures and plastered them for everyone else to see should be the one to go because they are stirring up trouble. This is not an employee that I would want in my company.

not likely but possible. The only reason I could think why is if you had any type of clothing with a company logo. As you would be a representative of that company no matter where you go. You should be more careful when around colleagues because they are always looking for a leg up on you.

I do not think that you can be fired for that but you might expect a talking to :-)
I assume that you did this on your off time ? In a professional company, while conducting business at dinner or other event , you would be expected to be professional and not have too many drinks since you are representing your company. If you did it too many times , you could be fired.

Fired? No. It could create a relatively hostile environment for you, though. Coworkers might change their opinions of you and such, but no, you cannot get fired for something like that so long as it does not interfere with your job duties. (If it was a business outing, then yes, you can get fired.)

No, it's not a crime to do what you want when your not at work. If you were doing drugs or something in the pics they might drug test you then fire you.

If you are an at-will employee, you can be fired for any reason as long as it is not one of the protected classes (race, religion, age, etc).
