Since your parents purchased it for you it might not be wise to do so. On top of possibly hurting their feelings, you don't want to appear ungrateful. On the other hand, if this laptop is completely useless for what you need, try to express it in a way that's neutral. You should know your parents better than the people here. Find out what upgrades you can eventually add to it in the future to make it better for yourself also. This could change your mind about it.

Just do not use it for long hours or take frequent breaks. It has poor ergonomics such that it is guaranteed to give you neck and wrist pains. Office users put it on taop of a phone book to raise screen to eye level. Then they attach a normal keyboard on a tray.
