Note to smilingstks:

Girl, you really need to get your head out of your ***.

**I** did not vote for that jackass.
**I** do not have to support him.
**Because I am a voting American citizen,** I have the Constitutionally-given right not to support him. Therefore, I am exercising that right.

All of that "he's our President, let's support him" baloney is what lead to the second 4 years we must endure of Bush and His Band of Bumbling Idiots.

Try taking off your rose colored glasses and look at what has happened to our country in the years he's been in office. America, once a shining beacon of hope and prosperity with the admiration of much of the world, is now a feared, unrespected global bully. Next time you see Georgie at an AA meeting, thank him for me.

Afterthought....
Further, I think Georgie has brought shame to the office of President of the United States of America. It is a cheapened, meaningless title. And for those who would like to bring up Clinton's indiscretions, save your breath. Clinton's issues were of a ~private~ nature that could have been handled ~privately~ but were made public by a man with a grudge. Georgie has toyed with the American public ~us~ our trust, our future--both familially and financially, and our respected standing as a society in the global community. If anyone were more a prime candidate for impeachment, I can think of no other.

Bush is not simple the "reformed" drunken son of a rich family, he is the "reformed" drunken son of a rich family who would never have amounted to anything without his rich daddy's connections. It says something sad about money and power, but something even sadder about the American voter, who wasn't able to pick up on this and vote for someone else.

By the way, it appears that he's been sneaking the occasional beer lately: http://rue89.com/2007/06/09/george-w-bush-beer-lover

Bush is a dry drunk. The definition of a dry drunk involves words like grandiose. And a lot of other similar words. What happens to alcoholics who stop drinking but do not go through the 12 steps to recovery is that they just act like they are still drunk only now they don't drink. They are just as crazy sober as they were drunk. Just look on the net for the Mission Accomplished freak show Bush put on and don't tell me that men's socks were not part of the show.
Over the top, out of control, and grandiose as hell.
George W. Bush's father had many jobs laid out for him because he couldn't measure up either. Friends of friends found him things to do and places to do it in. He lost the presidential primary to Reagan. Somebody ??? advised Reagan that Bush would be a good vp. What that was based on is a mystery. He had been head of the CIA during a period of bad news for the CIA. Then he was elected president because so many people loved Ronald Reagan and thought George Herbert Walker Bush would carry on with Reagan's agenda.
George Herbert Walker Bush (who at least went to fight in WWII unlike his son in Vietnam) is the son of Prescott Bush, the senator from Connecticut, who supported Hitler up until the afternoon of December 7, 1941, (eastern standard time) when it became impossible for any "true" American to support Hitler. December 7, 1941, is the day the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, effectively declaring war on the US. Hitler followed suit shortly thereafter.
Prescott Bush made tons of money dealing with Hitler and his henchmen, both political and industrialist henchmen like Krupp.
More important than the connection between money and power, which is, of course, a given, is who is behind the money and what do they think they are buying.
George W. Bush, in his entire life before he "found religion and entered politics (with the genius assistance of Karl Rove), failed at everything he did.
And his "sainted" wife, Laura, killed someone by driving through a STOP sign one night when she was about 17.
Hey, did she get to go to jail?
George W. Bush was driving drunk in Kennebunkport, Maine, but the arrest disappeared ....Hmmmm.
I see a pattern here.
Certainly, the RIGHT kind of money and the RIGHT
kind of power can get you off almost anything.
Anyone who thinks George W.Bush really acts as president is in La La Land. He's just the upfront guy who looks like someone and acts like someone you knew once in high school.
A more interesting question about Bush might be about the Bush family relationship to the Saudi royal family. And also the Carlyle Group, heavy duty investors in all kinds of odd ventures. The Bush family is great friends with Prince Bandor of the Saudi royals and he, unexpectedly, resigned his position in Washington and fled back to the Saudi desert. I wonder why. Could it be the millions or billions he was collecting as a kind of ersatz finder's fee from the Blair government? Hmm.
And if you don't believe some of this, why not check it out for yourself? Don't accept anything anyone says about anyone or anything. Find out yourself. That is the only way democracy has survived this long ... though I am not so confident about the future.

Drinking is the least of his problems.

P.S. to a comment about Bush being elected. Al Gore won the election...the Supreme Court decided Bush would be President...not the people of the USA.

I do not think he is reformed... I also think he has a serious drug problem as well as being a perpetual liar. He has been a failure at everything he has done. His only saving grace is the money and power his family has at their disposal. He was not supposed to win the presidency and he did not but he was appointed.

Darned if I know.. I used to be a BUSH fan to the end... but OH I am so so so sorry that I voted for him.. I consider him anti-American and is doing everything he can to destroy the United States. It is unfortunate that no one has the power to get him out of office immediately..

Yes, but is he reformed? Are you sure?

What it says is that money and family connections can be very important, but that it doesn't guarantee success. He has missed every opportunity to make good decisions. Money and family connection aren't the same as brains and good judgment.
