I recently purchased a used computer, on that computer I have windows XP pro, and on my old one I have windows XP home.
I was just wondering if it was possible to hook the two of them up together. I want to use the same internet connection (without having to use a router) transfer files over to each of them and use both monitors to view different things while hooked up. I have seen this done before, is this possible for me? any help would be much appreciated, thank you!

There is an item offered on QVC that I think is what you are after.
Item E02181 - The Tornado File and Data Transfer System w/PC Eraser Software
$42.54 + $4.47 S&H

To transfer files, use the USB-powered 54"L retractable cable. It allows you to easily plug in each end of the cable to the USB port of each computer. A built-in application automatically displays the contents of both computers on both screens. Just drag and drop the files you wish to move--including music, photos, documents, and more. To remove personal information from an old computer, use the PC Eraser software. It keeps the operating system intact while clearing free hard drive space. The software only erases what you want it to remove. From Tornado.

The router will be your safest and most efficient way to accomplish both tasks.

For to any retail store like circtuitycity, costco, bestbuy, frys, staples, or officedepot and ask to see their (internet) routers section.
