I was invited to a Red Hat clan meeting and found it so much fun. Women over 50 visit and exchange ideas that are creative and educational. The women that were there were from all walks of life and it was good to meet with someone my age or there about. They go to different homes to meet, have lunch or dessert, decide what they want to do for the year and make out a schedule. They can do anything from going to an outlet shopping to donating time to a charity or organization. The meeting I attended was the annual luncheon and there were about 300 women, a sea of red hats! They had a comic relief skit, great lunch and vendors with jewelry and clothing to view during the breaks. It was great fun!

Strange you should ask this question at just this time. Within the last 24 hours I looked up the information for my local chapter.

I've known several members in the past and they do lots of fun things like trips, wine tastings, volunteer work. They are a very social organization and have two age groups that dress in specific styles, such as the older ladies dress in Purple dresses with Red Hats, thus the name. Annual membership dues are within reason and I'm off to join!

Join too, no doubt you'll enjoy it!

I thought the Red Hat Society died out years ago. Are there still any active chapters?

They have a chapter of the Red Hat Society here, but I don't intend to join. My t-shirt says it all: "If I see one more Red Hat, I'm gonna puke." Hee hee!

My Nan used to say 'Red hat no draws' So I would keep well away from that sort of club. Especially on a cold windy day.

where I live there are many " Red Hatters " who are active at least two times a month. this is a fantastic group as it gives the ladies a chance to be by themselves and enjoy feminine companionship while the guys " batch it " for the same day.
