Do you automatically vote for yourself, or do you choose what you think is the best answer from all answers?

How can someone get loads of votes & win best answer? Is this a case of multiple id's? or are the public throwing their votes around to anyone?

Doesnt make sense to me!

I understand that we get a point for voting undecided questions, but I think Yahoo should force the person to choose a best answer to their own questions. I feel the answerer's deserve to have the opinion of the asker, not somebody else.

I have voted for my own answers, but more often, I see a clearly better one and vote for it.

I do think that the first few answers get most of the votes, because people often stop reading when they see something they can agree with, or something really witty.

And when there are lots of answers saying geranlly one thing, and only one or two opposing, the opposong can win, because the votes are spread more thinly in the majority...

Personally, although I find it hard to choose a best answer to my own questions, I kind of resent the large number of questions that get shuffled to voting, esp. when it's clear some people have gone to a lot of effort.

I usually feel that I AM the best answer. If I know that there is a better answer, I vote for them. I don't want to be "cheating" on something like Y!A

People actually vote, especially when they run out of answers. I do sometimes, and I try to vote the best answer

I vote for the best answer. I'm not sure how someone gets loads of votes and wins best answers unless it's a clique and everyone votes for each other.

I vote for myself but I'm not the only one. Others vote for my answer as well. It's not point gaming, it's that people pick what they feel is the Best Answer.

some have loads of ID's and spare time, others go vote coz they have run out of any other way to get points and they seldom really care so they select the first answer. I mostly vote for myself, but sometimes, somebody has an answer that impresses me enough, that I give them my vote.

honestly, i usually do vote for myself--unless there's is this super awesome answer, then i'll vote for that-but that doesn't happen too often.

Sometimes people get loads of votes because their answer is actually pretty good and people agree with it, but then there are also other cases when people create multiple accounts and keep voting for themselves---but that seems pretty desperate to me.

I vote for myself. But I've only voted like twice before.

I vote for the best answer. I usually can't remeber what I wrote half the time.

It depends. Sometimes I vote for myself but sometimes I vote for someone else.
