I feel like taking up a hobby. What equipment would I need? A turntable? Know any good websites regarding DJ-ing?

It's very expensive just so you know. If you are only going to be doing it as a hobby it might not be worth it. Just do a search for DJ tips & tricks, or use wikipedia. You will find some good info if you search.

As for equipment: there is MANY different types of equipment for djing. Just to name a few....
Turntables
CD Players
Laptop
not to mention you have to have a mixer, speakers, amp, record needles, records, cds, or mp3s if you want to use something like serato or final scratch.

Go to agiprodj.com they have EVERYTHING for the dj that you could ever need at the best prices

There are many types of DJ's. If you want to be a turntable DJ that is very expensive, you will need turn tables for DJing, the best are the Technique 1210's they usually go for about $350-500 a piece, then you would need a mixer which depending on what your needs are again you can get them real cheap. Then you will need vinyl (records) which will be your biggest expense because songs get old quick and you need to keep up on which songs are getting the most rotation.

A DJ that uses cd's is the cheapest because given the state of the music world you can download music from anywhere and make cd's.

as long as they have 2 Turntables i don't care in the event that they upload a CDDJ gadget or a MPC or a computer/computer. yet they'd desire to apply 2 turnies. quite some economic Hip Hop never incredibly made lots use of the turntable besides.
