Definitely. As a long-time believer and on-and-off again practicioner of Wicca, I've mostly enjoyed the more spiritual aspects of the religion- prayer to the Goddess, rituals, simple appreciation in nature and all that around me- rather than spells and that side of things. But a while back I was reading a spellbook and found a simple spell to bring about money and prosperity, for which I had all the ingredients (it involved hanging a clove-studded orange at my window). I did so and promptly forgot about it. Not too long after, a friend loaned me a hundred dollars. Granted, I didn't even realize or think of it at the time- it was only years later that I was getting back into Wicca and magick that I thought back and realized that the spell I had forgotten about had actually worked. It was particularly thrilling for me- not because I doubted the magick (if you do, it won't work), but because I hadn't been expecting anything so direct. I still don't when I perform the occasional spell- waiting on edge for results is likely to drive you crazy and the things you are asking for are likely to come to you in different ways than you expect.

So yes, from theoretical knowledge and personal experience, spells really do work. Not always in ways expected, of course, but they do. Barring any error in your execution of them (not enough concentration, mistakes, etc.), the universe will deliver the results to you.

Yes, they do and anyone can cast be they are novice or masters. Of course the more you practice the more desirable results will emerge from the spell you are casting.

For novices I always suggest simple Luck or Wellness spells.

There is nothing Satanic or Demonic about magic spells! That is the sort of nonsense the church cooked up in the middle ages to keep people in their churches, and keep them paying...through FEAR!
In truth, a magic spell is nothing more than putting positive energy torwards something that you want. Read/rent DVD of 'The Secret' it teaches you to be a positive person, and get the things you want. That IS what 'magic' is. Magick spells really work. Magick spells may not work at all.

The above isn't a paradox. Spells are not sentient, but they are sensitive to environment as well as right and wrong.

Unequivocally, Yes they do. I have seen many. But it takes work to do it correctly. So unless you are serious and really want the something you are doing the spell for you best not try.

Remember be careful what you wish for it applies to spells as well. Spells work through the energy of passion, for what ever it is the spell is for..

However I would not suggest that just anyone play with Magick. It IS a powerful tool in the right hands but magick can and does backfire and usually on the caster....

If you are seriously interested in doing magick then PLEASE get an experienced teacher who will teach you the basics of understanding magick and how it works, dont 'play' with it, its not a game or a toy but a serious metaphysical tool.

This is an area best left alone, it is not dealing with play, it is a serious tool used by the devil and it WILL open you up to evil coming near and if you allow it will over rule You. There is a basic truth when it comes to magic and things of this nature and everyone of these answers can say something different, but there is still one truth and you can find that in the bible and God says leave that area alone, so no matter what all the people say, God has the truth and that is the correct answer. spells do work if you work at them you have to beleave in them to get them to work and some people try spells just to see if they work and they dont work for them because they dont really beleave in them but if you can you will and they will so yes they do
