someone sent me an e-mail that needed me to download an adobe reader, I went ahead and down loaded it ,but after i viewed it I have no idea what or who this person is. My husband said I should have never downloaded it because it could contaminate my whole computer ,I went ahead and deleted the e-mail but the adobe reader is still a part of my computer . Can I delete the adobe reader too?

Why would you want to delete Adobe Reader? It's a useful and common utility. I suggest you do not delete it. And about the virus..No, it will not be there anymore after deletion.

Adobe Reader is a program. If it is the genuine Adobe Reader program, it isn't a virus. PDF files require Adobe Reader to be open. PDF are commonly used in many publications. For example, tax forms on the IRS website are saved in PDF forms. Nevertheless, if you do want to uninstall the program, it is very easy to do so. From the Start Menu > Control Panel > Add/Remove Program > scroll down to "Adobe Reader" and click [Remove]. A confirmation message will appear asking if you really want to uninstall Adobe Reader. Say "yes."

If u don't open the file then u should be ok as for adobe reader u can delete it and download it from the main site, if u use it. But the computer should be ok as long as u have deleted the file and block the sender.

The thing is if you do not know who the source of the email is it is best practice not to download anything because the download itself could be a virus or even if you do know the person maybe their computer is infected with a virus and spreading it to you. You could try a anti virus that allows you to scan your email and attachments before you download them. -Good Luck.
