Have they statred making large trucks like Kenworth, Mack, and Peterbilt equipped with automatic transmissions?

actually, none of them truck have "true" automatics (like the ones one would find in a car or pick-up)

the big trucks, semis, have automated manual transmissions. basicly the same thing as a manual transmission, with clutch, fly-wheel, gears, etc. the only difference is that the computer engage and disengages the clutch and activates air valves to shift the gears.

they come in various versions, some in 13 speed, some in 12 speed, 16 speed....

Yes, even in Volvos and Freightliners. They are not automatics like a car though. Some you have to depress the clutch when you stop... some you don't.

I can't said that i know this, but i doubt all theses truck/trailer drivers handle a manuel...
