In regards to brands, any of the major ones are fine: TDK, Maxell, Memorex, etc.

Be sure to get the right type -- either DVD+R or DVD-R. Check the specs on your DVD drive. I'm sure DVD+R will work since HP backed the DVD+R consortium. But the drive may be a dual-format one -- supporting the competing DVD-R standard too.

DVD-R / DVD+R

no difference in either one of these types, but that is arguable.

But yeah, either one of those types would suit you just fine.
