Can you put it in the refrigerator if you don't have a cool place? What method do you use?

Fresh garlic stays in a basket on my counter, cut garlic goes in my fridge.

If you store it in the fridge, it'll grow some bitter parts which you don't want to use. You can get a nice clay garlic keeper that has holes in it for the garlic to breathe and just leave it on the counter or store it in a brown paper bag. You can also freeze garlic.

I keep mine in a drawer, but you can by all means store it in the fridge.
