I love the sea (but not the sand). I'm fortunate to have always lived by both. Sunderland is a seaside town and I've always lived a ten minute walk from countryside. The first house I lived in was apparently just over the road from Sunderland's castle.

The second house was a half an hour walk from a Greek-style momument (Penshaw - pronounced Pensher)
I now live the furthest from both but in a car can get to the countryside within five to ten minutes and to the coast in about the same.
